Notes: Well, the first night at the new venue went really well. Good turnout,
and the Armory is easily the nicest venue with the friendliest staff that
we've been in so far. I switched off with a very nice girl named Amieee, who
had never DJed before. She's very nice and has good taste in music, though,
so I had a good time and the crowd seemed happy with her. She's a quick
study, and was doing some fairly reasonable transitions by the end of the
night. We messed around with the format a bit, which now pretty much includes
everything that's ever been mentioned in the same sentence with goth. People
seemed to enjoy it, and we got good reactions from the new material like The
69 Eyes and Acumen Namtion as well as the old-school Virgin Prunes and Nitzer
Ebb, and we're finally at a venue with good enough equipment to beatmatch on
(ie, the cd player actually has a functioning pitch slider and starts more or
less when you press play), so I'm a happy dj. I must admit, though, that I
got a little carried away... despite being at the same tempo, Liquid Hate does
not blend with The Passenger. At all.
